Job Summary

The Human Resources Intern supports the Human Resources department through administrative, recruitment, employee engagement, onboarding and other organizational development activities. This role provides hands‑on exposure to healthcare and hospice human resource operations while contributing to the Minnesota Hospice’s mission.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist in sourcing, scheduling and facilitating the recruitment process
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding process for new employees
  • Maintain and update employee records
  • Help prepare human resource related documents, letters, reports and educational materials
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities and organizational events
  • Assist with leave management and human resource administrative tasks
  • Support performance management of training initiatives
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information and company records
  • Assist with benefit enrollment and ongoing management
  • Assist with compliance, documentation and reporting
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of human resource practices and labor laws
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Eagerness to learn and work in a team environment
Education and Experience
  • Pursuing or recently completed Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related degree
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times
