Director of Building and Grounds, Engineer & Assistant Engineer
SUPERVISION:
Custodians
SALARY: $17.95/hour
Qualifications- Required:
High school diploma or equivalent - Preferred:
First or Second Class license - Three years job related experience
- The Lead Custodian is responsible for keeping a running inventory of cleaning supplies and submitting requests to the 2nd Engineer.
- Respond to repair calls for activities such as replacing broken light fixtures, cleaning up non-toxic spills, and removing damaged assets.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, administration, visitors and others encountered on the job.
- Supervise custodial staff workflow and interact with district trades personnel.
- Perform preventative maintenance on building equipment and use cleaning supplies/equipment to keep buildings clean and professional.
- Respond to repair requests quickly and in a professional manner; adhere to the District's safety policies to create a safe work environment.
- Maintain grounds by cutting, trimming, shoveling and blowing snow from walkways, roadways and parking areas.
- Adhere to federal, state and District data privacy regarding employee information and contractor pricing.
- Stand ready to respond to calls 24 hrs/day on equipment failure or for security reasons.
- Continuous standing and walking; frequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, sitting, walking, standing, hearing, talking, and seeing.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of equipment, supplies and furniture; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent pushing and pulling; work with various chemicals and follow Material Safety Data Sheets; use personal protective equipment as needed.
- Work outdoors during inclement weather.
- Special License:
State license examination - Second Class:
Must have a Special License and work under a First Class operator for at least one year - First Class:
Must have a Second Class license or higher and work under a First Class operator for an additional two years - Chief's License:
Must have a First Class license or higher and work under a Chief operator for an additional two years - Certified Pool Operator:
Complete 16 hours of training every five years; cost paid by the School District
