Substitute Custodian - Afternoon/Evening Shift
Hourly position. Flexible hours up to 28 hours per week based on availability and assignment acceptance, typically covering afternoon (5:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.) and evening (2:00/3:00 p.m.–10:30/11:00 p.m.) shifts.
Reports to: Director of Building & Grounds, Building Engineers, Building Principals.
Supervision: None.
Salary: $16.25 per hour.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Bilingual.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waxing floors; cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms; washing chairs, desks, chalkboards; emptying trash cans; sanitizing locker rooms.
- Assist teachers and staff with moving furniture and delivering supplies.
- Maintain grounds, including cutting and trimming lawn, shoveling and blowing snow from walkways.
- Cleans and maintains cafeteria and equipment.
- Maintain building security.
- Clean up body fluids and secretions in all school areas.
- Assist building administrators and staff in setting up for special events and other tasks as assigned.
- Collaborate with teachers and support personnel to support the mission of the district.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, support staff, colleagues, and parents, demonstrating respect for all.
- Perform record keeping as assigned; monitor supplies and notify lead custodian when supplies are needed.
- Coordinate with community education and other groups.
- Adhere to federal, state, and district data privacy regulations regarding employee information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Continuous standing and walking; frequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, sitting, and walking.
- Frequent lifting of equipment, supplies, and furniture; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work with chemicals following Material Safety Data Sheets; use personal protective equipment when handling body fluids.
- Work outside during inclement weather.
Benefits are available for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week. Substitute positions (up to 28 hours) are not eligible for the full benefits package.
