Job SummaryA Machine Operator-Folder Card Affix acts as the primary contact for production‑related issues on Direct Mail equipment & Speedo Near Line operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide education, directions and assistance to team members, on best practices, troubleshooting, quality, safety, compliance, & equipment.
- Perform all tasks associated with Folder Operator, Ink Jet, and Helper roles, including setting up stations and bagging requirements.
- Operate equipment within job parameters and to the highest efficiency possible.
- Read and interpret job tickets, ensuring adherence to sign‑off and continuity procedures.
- Inspect cost center processes to verify quality standards and proper execution.
- Understand and complete Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) sheets for assigned equipment.
- Inform Shift Leader and order supplies or parts as necessary and provide shift handoffs as necessary to other operators.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in related activities.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks to maintain optimal equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with Nahan Lean manufacturing principles.
- Follow all Nahan safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine malfunctions.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
- Proficiency/fluent with English language, both written and verbal.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous related experience preferred
