Position Overview
An Assembler is responsible for production assembly of molded plastic parts. The operator runs machines to perform specific machining processes, positions parts on the fixture, secures them, deburrs or gauges parts, selects programs, changes fixtures, records process control data, reads blueprints, and operates tools independently.
Essential Functions- Operate production machines for molded plastic parts following training and procedures.
- Position and secure parts on machine fixtures using foot pedal or hand controls.
- Deburr and gauge parts during machine cycles.
- Select programs, change fixtures, and run machines per authorized procedures.
- Record process control data, read and interpret blueprint tolerances, and use measurement tools correctly.
- Start‑up and shut‑down equipment; operate tools independently.
- Work in a team environment, follow direction, read work instructions, and prepare container tickets with part counts.
- Use hand tools, scales, assembly presses, drill presses, and related equipment.
- Stand or sit for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs; perform fine hand manipulation and grasping of parts of various sizes.
- Maintain full range of motion in hands, arms, legs, neck, and back and use chemicals as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Normal to high manual dexterity.
- Ability to use hand tools, machinery, and variable gauges.
- Qualified and competent after a reasonable training period based on job complexity.
Exposure to a manufacturing environment requiring PPE such as safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and hearing protection. The work area is non‑temperature controlled and may become hot. Potential hazards include ergonomic issues, burns, bruises, cuts, heavy lifting, fumes, slippery floors, machine hazards, chemicals, and gases. Protective measures such as machine guards, ergonomic stretch programs, documented hazards, PPE, and safety training are in place.
PayRange
$18.00 - $21.57 per hour. Actual base pay depends on job‑related skills, experience, business needs, and location.
