Position Overview
Under moderate supervision, perform diversified work involving fine wire solder (lead & lead‑free), assembly using fixtures and torque guns, work from drawings or specifications, and may interface with engineering. May test or inspect assembled units. May rotate stations in a work cell and/or is expected to have mastery of all steps in a process.
Essential Functions- Mechanically inclined with basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills.
- Work in a team environment, follow directions, read work instructions, and prepare container labels, including addition and subtraction of part counts.
- Gather materials, select programs, change fixtures, and adjust the test machine to perform tasks.
- Perform a preferred solder joint both with lead/lead‑free solder and recognize acceptable solder flow.
- Perform difficult assembly tasks while standing for the shift duration.
- Set up the potting machine, load fixtures, perform the switch potting process, and achieve quality work if needed.
- Run parts, inspect for defects, troubleshoot, and communicate issues as they arise, and make required adjustments.
- Package finished parts and send to the appropriate next step in the operation.
- May be required to train on other shifts.
- Expected to work safely and follow company policies and procedures.
- 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Normal to high manual dexterity skills; operator must be ambidextrous for some hand tools.
- Moderate lifting up to 50lbs; lifting assistance is provided when necessary.
- Fine hand manipulation, pinching, pulling, and grasping small, medium, and large parts.
- Full range of motion in hands, arms, legs, neck, and back to perform job duties.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to communicate in English; excellent written and verbal communication is required.
Manufacturing setting that may require sitting for long periods based upon business needs. Temperature controlled environment.
Compensation and BenefitsPay Grade 5: $20.63 - $24.49 per hour. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, 401k up to 4% match, Health Savings Account, wellness program, product purchase discounts.
