Wage Range: $23.71‑$35.57
Shift: 12‑hour nights
Shift Differential: $2.00

Job Summary: A Maintenance I will perform maintenance on specified equipment daily and regularly as directed by the production departments, conduct research and development on new and existing equipment, integrate these into the manufacturing process to achieve desired results, and train and mentor other maintenance personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct the manufacture, installation, and testing of equipment to ensure that products meet specifications and codes.
  • Research and develop tools, processes, machines and equipment, and integrate them into the facilities and systems for producing quality products.
  • Perform modeling of a diverse range of complex internal systems and design/develop controls to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Use principles and methods of engineering analysis and design to predict, and evaluate the results obtained from systems and processes.
  • Perform detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
  • Investigate complaints from operators/customers, evaluate problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Work with project managers on production efforts to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
  • Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair.
  • Plan and develop applications and modifications used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks to maintain optimal equipment performance.
  • Continue education as required for the role, must complete and pass an electrical skills test.
  • Follow all Nahan safety and quality standards.
  • Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Skills and Abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot advanced machine/equipment malfunctions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and to train and coach.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
  • Excellent time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency/fluen‑cy with English, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of secondary education and/or a combination of education and work experience in mechanical design and fabrication, with advanced knowledge.
  • 10+ years minimum work experience in manufacturing or a related field preferred.
  • Power Limited License (PLT) preferred.
  • Printing/Mailing background preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The role operates in a manufacturing environment with normal to moderate working conditions and moderate to loud noise. The employee frequently handles printing equipment and machines, standing for long periods, using hands or fingers to reach or handle items, lifting 70 lbs or more, and maintaining alertness during extended seasonal hours. Exposure to machinery, moving parts, airborne particles such as paper dust, hazardous materials or fumes may occur, requiring use of PPE and hearing protection.

The role may involve working at high, precarious places or confined spaces.
