Position Details- Job Title: Material Handler II
- Department: Warehouse
- Reports To: Warehouse Manager
- FLSA Status: Non-exempt
- Pay Band: 8
- Wage Range: $17.50 – $23.00 per hour
- Shifts: 12‑hour days, 6:00 am–6:00 pm
A Material Handler II is responsible for unloading, transporting, storing, recording, retrieving, and loading all materials throughout the plant in an accurate and efficient manner using a variety of manual and automatic machines—including pallet jacks, forklifts, balers, lift trucks, and shrink wrappers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive and load raw materials, finished goods, work‑in‑process, and mail according to established processes.
- Transport, store, accurately record, and retrieve all materials.
- Maintain complete knowledge of the inventory system.
- Communicate with shift teams regarding job status and special instructions.
- Collect shredding, banding, and loading of paper, cardboard, and recyclable materials.
- Coordinate with machine operators on work‑in‑progress and finished goods needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks.
- Ensure compliance with lean manufacturing principles.
- Follow all company quality and safety policies and procedures.
- Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime as required.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required
- Attention to detail and the ability to scan pallets accurately.
- Read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
- Strong computer skills.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Excellent time‑management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency and fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift experience preferred; must be willing to be certified and trained on the job.
- Previous related experience preferred.

The role is performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels. Employees frequently operate printing equipment and machines, stand for long periods, and lift 70 lbs or more at a time. The job requires regular use of hearing protection, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment, and may involve exposure to airborne particles such as paper dust and hazardous materials.
Work hours can include extended seasonal shifts and overtime.
