Welder ​/ Fabricator

Ben's Structural Fabrication Inc., a Maine-based structural steel and metal fabrication contractor, is seeking a Welder / Fabricator to join our hands-on team. In this role, you'll fabricate and weld structural steel, stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals in our shop and assist with on-site installations across New England. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, fitting and assembling components, performing quality welds, and maintaining a safe, organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, stick, and flux-core welding on structural steel and miscellaneous metals
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication details
• Fit, layout, and assemble beams, columns, stairs, railings, and custom metalwork
• Operate fabrication equipment, including saws, drills, grinders, and welders
• Assist with loading, rigging, and on-site installation of steel components
• Inspect welds and fabricated parts for quality, accuracy, and safety compliance
• Follow all shop and field safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Collaborate with foremen and team members to meet project deadlines and specifications
• Perform basic maintenance on welding and fabrication tools and equipment
