job summarya team lead is responsible for assisting the production department supervisor in various technical and administrative tasks. Along with growth and exposure to supervisory responsibilities, team leaders often perform similar tasks as the employees they oversee. This includes performing tasks for employees who are on vacation or take time off and exemplifies the ability to step in at a moment's notice to cover an absent supervisor, making sure the rest of the team performs and hits their targets, all without authority.
essentialduties and responsibilities
- prepares the production floor for daily production
- order components and/or supplies in the quantities needed to meet the daily production requirements.
- assist in maintaining schedule adherence and support growth initiatives.
- follow supervisor’s guidance on break coverage.
- operate low priority machine/support priority machines.
- demonstrate leadership in working with troubleshooters and operators.
- involved in job changeovers, setup reduction and total productive maintenance (tpm).
- report issues/problems to immediate supervisor/production manager.
- fill in for supervisors in their absence as needed.
- communicate with next shift about status of job(s) and any special instructions.
- monitor production consumables.
- conduct periodic audits of the processes.
- communicate and assist in other areas of production as directed.
- assist supervisor in monitoring and updating visibility boards.
- perform daily, weekly, and monthly total productive maintenance (tpm) tasks to maintain optimal equipment performance.
- follow all nahan safety and quality standards.
- work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
- other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot advanced machine/equip. Malfunctions.
- attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects.
- ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
- strong computer skills.
- ability to work independently and part of a team, showing leadership skills, coaching skills and trainer skills.
- strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
- excellent time management skills and organizational skills.
- proficiency/fluent with english language, both written and verbal.
- high school diploma or equivalent.
- two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing setting as a team leader/machine operator preferred.
- solid knowledge of machine capabilities and manufacturing processes/procedures.

The employee will regularly lift 70lbs or more at a time. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. Employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
