Job SummaryCatholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud is seeking a Volunteer Program Coordinator to support our Emergency Services programs. This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of volunteer engagement—recruitment, placement, training, coordination, and recognition—while also supporting program operations and providing direct service to clients.
This is a highly relational, hands‑on role that plays a key part in ensuring a positive volunteer experience and effective service delivery across our Food Shelf, Mobile Food Services, and Basic Everyday Essentials programs.
What you will do- Lead and manage the Emergency Services volunteer program, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and recognition
- Coordinate and assign volunteers to roles within the Food Shelf, Mobile Food Services, and Basic Everyday Essentials programs
- Utilize and maintain Volunteer Hub (online volunteer management system) to track volunteer hours, schedules, and engagement activities
- Support and coordinate volunteers for large-scale events and special projects, including Toys for Tots, Stamp Out Hunger, and other community initiatives
- Provide on‑site leadership during distributions to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for volunteers and clients
- Assist clients directly, including welcoming new households, conducting intake as needed, responding to requests, and making referrals to additional services
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure volunteer efforts align with program needs and priorities
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience:- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in volunteer coordination, customer service, or human services
- Experience supervising or working with volunteers strongly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
