Role Description

This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Director of Development located in St. Cloud, MN. The Director of Development will lead the university’s fundraising activities, build and maintain relationships with donors and stakeholders, develop and execute fundraising strategies, and oversee donor engagement initiatives. Responsibilities include identifying and cultivating potential donors, creating campaigns to support university programs, managing fundraising events, and collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve funding goals.

The role serves as a key leader in advancing the university’s mission through strategic development efforts.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in donor cultivation, fundraising strategy, and fundraising campaign management
  • Skills in relationship‑building, stakeholder management, and donor communication
  • Proficiency in project management, event planning, and team leadership
  • Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with presentation and proposal development skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a master’s degree is preferred
  • Experience in higher education advancement or nonprofit development is highly desirable
