A correctional health care nurse in a primary‑care setting performs a full range of nursing skills and applies broad knowledge of disease processes. Duties include providing individual health care, assisting in medication administration, performing functions delegated by the charge nurse/supervisor, maintaining accurate medical records, delivering health education, and managing inventory and security of medical supplies and equipment.

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Minnesota, current, active and unrestricted.
• For RN Senior:
  Must be a current or former State of Minnesota employee with a permanent or probationary status in the RN Senior classification, eligible for transfer, demotion or reinstatement.

• Experience as an RN Senior with the State of Minnesota.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Hands‑on clinical nursing experience in a hospital, long‑term care and/or clinic setting.
• Experience in a correctional or secured setting.
• Specialized clinical experience (e.g., gender‑specific, geriatric, juvenile health care, medical/surgery unit, behavioral health).
• Strong communication, critical‑thinking, and multi‑tasking skills.

Pre‑placement physical screening may include tuberculosis testing and respirator clearance. Selected candidates will sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA). Refer to the PDA via email to Katie Wynn (Katie.Wynn.us).

Screening includes criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations, training background, and employment history. Criminal history checks, background reviews, and fingerprinting within 30 days of employment may be required.
