Will develop, implement, and educate patients, families, & staff on proper breast-feeding techniques and lactation, in conjunction with the RN Lactation Nurses, Providers, to promote family centered care. Position serves as a clinical expert, consultant, education leader and liaison between the patient/ family, provider, staff. This person will help grow the exclusive breastfeeding rates through telehealth, education, awareness and networking. The position provides research and evidenced based care to lactation consultants to drive breastfeeding success and improve the health of mother and baby both on an inpatient and outpatient basis, as well as communities ition actively and consistently demonstrates the mission, vision, values and guiding principles of Centra Care.
Patients cared for include childbearing women and newborn infants. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
- Part-time | 16-24 hours every two weeks | St. Cloud
- Days | working hours variable between 8amm-5pm
- Pay based on experience and degree
- Associate/Diploma in nursing starting at $37.27 per hour
- Bachelor’s in nursing starting at $38.56 per hour
- Master’s in nursing starting at $39.84 per hour

- Associate degree from an accredited school of nursing required;
Bachelor’s or master’s preferred - Registered Nurse (RN) Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy required.
- 1 years to 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting with background in post partum, labor and delivery, special care nursery, or pediatrics required
- 3 years of breastfeeding education/instruction experience required
- Certified Lactation Counselor Current certification (IBCLC) preferred
- Knowledge of nursing standards, policies, procedures, ethics, and experience in supporting nutritional needs of mother/ infant
- Possesses the ability to understand patients' medical records, physician orders and medication orders to be communicated to the patient and hospital staff.
