Key Position Details
  • Tier1:
    Minimum of 1year PhaseI and PhaseII Perianesthesia experience, ability to care for patients on ventilators and with hemodynamic instability, currently working on the unit.
  • Tier2:
    Minimum of 1year current ICU or ED experience (including STAB) and ability to care for patients on ventilators and with hemodynamic instability, required.
  • Tier3:
    Perianesthesia experience with high acuity patients, ICU experience, or ED experience (including STAB).
  • 0.75

    FTE (60hours per two‑week pay period)
  • 12‑hour day/evening shifts
  • Occasional weekends
Job Description

Nursing is the diagnosis and treatment of human response to actual or potential health problems. In this role you will work with patients undergoing or recovering from anesthesia, closely monitoring for complications to ensure safety and comfort.

Principle Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; supervising progress; and modifying the plan as needed.
  • Maintains education and competencies to remain proficient in high‑quality patient care.
  • Incorporates evidence‑based nursing practice considering statutes, rules, and regulations when developing the plan of care.
  • Establishes, in collaboration with family and patient, realistic and measurable patient expected outcomes based on nursing diagnoses, patient presentations, potential capabilities, goals, available resources, and continuity of care.
  • Identifies outcomes that are age‑appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic, and attainable.
  • Coordinates, collaborates, and delegates appropriately to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Fulfills all organizational requirements.
  • Supplemental roles:
    Charge Nurse (when acting in this role) – demonstrates coordination, delegation, and direction of unit operations;
    Preceptor (when acting in this role) – identifies learning needs, plans learning experiences, and validates clinical competence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Vocational degree
  • 0 to 2years critical care RN experience
  • Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required if working in MN; WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in WI.
  • Must meet at least one of the following:
    Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross, or Allina in‑house BLS training (within 30days of hire).
  • ACLS/BLS Tier2, Advanced Cardiac Life Support – required by completion of orientation.
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support – preferred.
  • CPAN – American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification – preferred.
  • CAPA – American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification – preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 0 to 2years perianesthesia experience
Physical Demands
  • Medium work:
    Lifting weight up to 32lbs occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25lbs frequently.
Pay Range

$42.92 to $71.47 per hour. The starting rate depends on experience, education, and the union agreement. Shift, weekend, and other differentials may increase the rate for certain shifts or work.
