Coordinate Measuring Machine Technician (CMM)

Arctic Cat is seeking a Coordinate Measuring Machine Technician (CMM) to join our team in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This role is responsible for inspecting and validating parts and assemblies using CMMs, precision measuring tools, and other inspection equipment to ensure products meet engineering specifications and quality standards. The CMM Technician will partner with engineering, production, and suppliers to support quality initiatives, analyze inspection data, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure received and built products follow published engineering requirements and specifications by utilizing accepted metrological processes including CMM's, non-contact gauging, and destructive and non-destructive testing techniques.
  • Investigate and analyze accuracy of information entered into the quality managed data collection tools.
  • Audit and verify purchased components adhere to the requirements of the PPAP (Production Parts Approval Process).
  • Execute detailed inspection control plans and part/assembly layouts utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to assure parts meet design specifications.
  • Measure parts using hand gages (micrometers, calipers, height stands, protractors, etc.) to prepare detailed layout reports that will provide engineering, supplier, assembly, and fabrications shops the data required to make the necessary process adjustments.
  • Responsible for setting up, programming, and measuring simple, complex, prismatic, and non-prismatic parts into Coordinate Measuring Machines and Faro Type Inspection equipment.
  • Provide technical support and collaborate cross-functionally with fabrication, production, and engineering.
  • Perform advanced inspection and analysis of results in regard to fabricated, assembled parts and weldments using a wide range of gages, tools, and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Associates or Technical Degree required, engineering support experience in automotive
  • Years of

    Experience:

    Tech 2- 3 or more years of experience in quality assurance or related area
  • Thorough understanding of datum creation, feature construction, CMM programming techniques, part restraint and fixturing, and report interpretation with detailed knowledge of blueprint reading
  • Technical Knowledge: 3D inspection software tools including PC-DMIS, Poly Works, or Metro logic, as well as GD&T geometric tolerances, & tolerance stacks
  • Ability to use basic and advanced measuring tools and test equipment, and ability to operate Faro Arm and Coordinate Measuring Machines
