** Facilities Maintenance Technician I
**** Hiring Range: $27.93 - $30.52
**** Facilities Maintenance Technician II
**** Hiring Range: $29.32 - $32.04
**** Position Objective
** To provide technical maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment and systems including installing, repairing, operating, cleaning, and preventative maintenance. This position is responsible for the removal and maintenance of furniture and completion of work orders involving heating, air conditioning, plumbing, building automation, refrigeration, painting, and remodeling.

** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
** These examples do not include all possible responsibilities in this position and do not limit the assignment of related duties to this classification.
1. Installs, repairs, and maintains heating and cooling systems including the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, pneumatic systems, electronic Energy Management system, and piping to the refrigeration system to maintain safe, functional and comfortable facilities for employees and the public.  
2. Repairs and maintains door locks to ensure security and safety.  
3. Installs, maintains and repairs carpet, masonry, painting and wall finishes.  
4. Moves and installs office furniture to provide efficient and comfortable employee work spaces.  
5. Operates and inspects boiler system to maintain safe and efficient operations.  
6. Repairs and maintains kitchen and laundry equipment.  
7. Performs grounds maintenance including cutting grass and vegetation and snow/ice removal to ensure safe access and professional appearance.  
8. Ensures proper operations of air handler, belts, filters, and bearings.  
9. Inspects and repairs equipment and performs preventative maintenance.  10. Installs, repairs and maintains pipes, valves, faucets, lavatories, commodes, urinals, traps, sewer vents and other sanitary fixtures.  11. Attends work regularly and in a timely manner.  12. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
** Minimum Qualifications
** In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:
** Facilities Maintenance Technician I
*** High School graduate or equivalent
* Two years of post-secondary education in facilities maintenance, ventilation, heating, electrical operation, or similar field, and two years of related experience in facilities maintenance, ventilation, heating, or electrical operation
** OR
* * seven years of progressively related experience in facilities maintenance, ventilation, heating, or electrical operation
* Must possess valid Minnesota Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date
* Valid Minnesota Specialist Boilers license and the ability to obtain a Minnesota Class 2C Boilers licensure within 6 months of hire date
** Facilities Maintenance Technician II
*** High School graduate or equivalent
* Two years of post-secondary education in facilities maintenance, ventilation, heating, electrical operation, or similar field, and two years of related experience in facilities maintenance, ventilation, heating, or electrical operation
