Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Field/Service Technician, Diesel Mechanic
Ziegler Ag Equipment is hiring a Field Service Ag Technician for the St Cloud branch. The role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a full line of agricultural equipment—including planting, tillage, application and harvest machinery—at customer locations. A company truck is provided for the job.
Pay Range$38.00 to $51.00 per hour, depending on experience, education and location. Pay may vary up to 10% based on applicant location.

- Diagnose and repair agricultural equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel and electrical systems.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive and timely manner to maximize value of work performed.
- Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and safety standards.
- Assist other technicians and collaborate on troubleshooting repairs.
- Document work orders complete and timely to ensure high customer satisfaction and communicate part needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe service truck and tool set.
- Respond to after‑hour emergency calls as directed by the supervisor.
- 2‑year technical college degree in diesel technology or a related field; or high school diploma/GED with 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience.
- 3+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably with some field service.
- Knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a plus.
- Ability to write and communicate effectively with supervisors, customers and teammates.
- Basic computer skills to document work orders and use online diagnostic systems.
- Own mechanic tool set.
- Clean driving record and Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period.
- DOT medical certification card; pass a DOT pre‑employment drug screen and physical due to safety‑sensitive role.
- Ability to operate equipment safely.
Physical Requirements
Push/pull up to 50 lbs.; lift/carry up to 60 lbs.; perform standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching tasks; handle repetitive movements such as kneeling, squatting, stair climbing, ladder climbing, overhead reaching, and use of bolt boxes. Work may be conducted indoor or outdoor with occasional loud noise.
