Company OverviewAmrize, formerly Aggregate Industries, operates seven regional construction materials businesses. Our core production of crushed stone and sand & gravel is coupled with downstream manufacturing of ready‑mixed concrete, asphalt, and related products, offering a fully integrated supply chain from production to delivery.
About the RoleThe Equipment Operator position involves operating a range of earth‑moving equipment—including dozers, track loaders, excavators, skid steers, tractors, and backhoes—on a variety of job sites. The role supports daily crew operations, maintains plant and yard appearance, performs preventive maintenance, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
What You'll Accomplish- Operate several pieces of heavy equipment including dozer, track loader, excavator, skid steer, tractor, and backhoe.
- Assist crew in daily operations on assigned job sites.
- Maintain appearance of plant and yard area through general housekeeping.
- Perform assignments as outlined by supervisors following standard procedures.
- Ensure periodic safety and economic inspections of work.
- Conduct pre‑shift inspections on mobile equipment.
- Perform emergency and routine repairs and maintenance on plant equipment and site structures.
- Carry out routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning mobile equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment.
- Grease and fuel mobile equipment.
- Adhere to all safety, compliance, and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards.
- Act safely and report any observed unsafe practices.
- Handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Demonstrate commitment to communication, continuous improvement, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a culture of safety.
- At least one year of experience as a heavy equipment operator.
- Manual dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, good physical fitness, balance, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to teamwork and shared goals, fostering a collaborative spirit to achieve common objectives.
- Strict adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize‑approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators where required.
- Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven at the respirator seal to ensure successful fit tests.
