JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the Mechanical Maintenance operations on an assigned shift to ensure that all equipment is operating effectively.
- Maintains electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems to ensure that they remain in working order.
- Responsible for maintaining physical building including structure and cosmetic.
- Responsible for all equipment including but not limited to general maintenance, ordering parts for repair, requesting repair services.
- Assists supervisors in areas of carpentry, plumbing, welding, masonry, boiler, HVAC and electrical systems.
- Assists all personnel with job duties and responsibilities.
- Keeps supervisor informed and make recommendations for any areas that need attention.
- Provides proper safety and security to company assets including personnel.
- Understands all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the department.
- Maintains daily log, maintenance forms and requested reports for management.
- Understands and enforces all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the department.
- Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
- Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
- Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
- Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Previous mechanical maintenance experience helpful.
- Knowledgeable in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and LP gas systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot order and install repair parts for all equipment.
- Excellent time management, organizational, public relations and communication skills.
- Ability to resolve conflicts efficiently and professionally.
- Ability to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Prolonged standing and walking is required.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.
- Subject to external working conditions including extreme weather conditions.
Education Required: High School Graduate or General Educate Degree (GED) AND a minimum level of certification in two (2) of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, HVAC, boiler, wastewater treatment plant, certified pool operator or equivalent years of experience, determined by the interview panel.

Must have basic computer skills
Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
