Sports & Recreation Supervisor

Engage with the youth and provide them with the tools to grow and have positive experiences, social skills and opportunities to build relationships? This position will be responsible for the oversight of the Gymnasium, Rock Wall & Racquetball Courts. The Sports & Rec Supervisor will provide a high degree of member service through a professional relationship with participating members along with ensuring a positive and safe experience for all.

• Actively engage with the youth/adults in the gymnasium & build lasting relationships.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants/members in the gymnasium, by providing close supervision of all activities, and ensuring spaces are clean and supplies are well maintained.
• Provide a positive experience for all members and guests.
• Monitor gymnasium to ensure compliance with YMCA policies and procedures.
• Provide members with opportunities that will increase their involvement, sense of belonging, and ownership of the YMCA.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the gymnasium
• Have a thorough knowledge of branch emergency procedures and take appropriate action for emergency situations
• Other activities and duties as needed to address the ongoing health and well-being of our staff and members.
• Cleaning the Gymnasium at the end of shift.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with Youth
• Experience working in sports environment
• Excellent customer service and mentoring
• Bilingual in English/Somali/Spanish preferred, but not required.
