LTL Driver - Routes, OT

Overview

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company started in 1978. Our core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility are located in St. Cloud, MN. We employ over 1,800 employees company wide and have expanded throughout the Midwest.

The Support LTL Driver fills in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – completion of route
• 10–15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $23.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience

• Cover open, vacant, or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks, and other duties as needed
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Collect payments as needed
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
