Job Summary
Under the direction of, and reporting to the Fill Plant Manager, the Transfer/Utility Relief Driver supports a wide variety of distribution areas, including back up for transfer truck driving, and back up driving for route sales. This position ensures gases are handled properly to OSHA and Central McGowan standards in a safe manner. This position also delivers and transfers multiple types of cylinders using a tractor trailer unit to and from CM2 locations and customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the successful transfer of equipment and supplies between locations.
- Serve as a relief driver for multiple CO₂, Bulk, and Route Sales deliveries.
- Safely deliver and replenish customer bulk tanks, cylinders, and gases.
- Assist route sales staff and ensure timely, professional customer service.
- Filling and delivering weekly orders per branch requests.
- Internal customer support
- Maintain Required paperwork and certifications. DOT, PHMSA.
Managing the Customer experience through motivated staff
- Train additional team members as needed.
- Monitor internal customer requests and order fulfillment
Manage the Peer Experience through excellence and attitude.
- Lead by Example
- Provide pertinent job training and provide a safe work environment to any new team members
- Directly report any issues to the fill plant manager to comply with safety requirements.
Minimize waste
- Minimize waste through attention to standard protocols and procedures.
Manage cylinder and GP inventory
Keep the plant manager informed of any shortages or discrepancies in inventory.
Preferred Qualifications Education, Experience and Certifications- High School degree or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working with high pressure cylinders preferred.
- Class A License, with Haz Mat and Tanker Endorsement, required.
- High level of ethics, honesty, and transparency
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to CM2 operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a good team-player, detail oriented and good at multi-tasking
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software, and standard business equipment (phone, computer, copier/scanner etc.).
The work environment is primarily indoors. May have exposure to a variety of weather conditions when traveling outside of the workplace.
- Must be ablet to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Twist, turn, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and reach frequently in the performance of responsibilities.
- Apply manual dexterity, visual acuity, and ability.
