Driver
Operate a transit bus carrying public passengers on a demand response and deviated route systems. Maintain daily records and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Safely operate a transit bus and assist passengers as needed, including those requiring mobility support.
- Conduct federally required pre- and post-trip safety inspections and maintain related logs.
- Maintain accurate daily records on vehicle operation, including fuel usage, mileage, pass usage and fare transactions.
- Perform maintenance and cleanliness of transit vehicles, garage facilities, and wash bays.
- Ensure accurate tracking of child passengers, including their destinations, card usage, ensure safe arrival at destinations.
- Perform Transit Dispatcher duties, as assigned, including overseeing daily vehicle dispatch, scheduling public transit appointments, responding to public inquiries, ensure timely and accurate data entry related to service requests, ridership, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
Skills and Abilities
- High school graduate or
- Valid Class C commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger transport endorsement, or obtain within 30 days of hire, and medical card (M.S. 221.031, Subd. 3a, as amended).
- Successful completion of a Child Protection Background Check (M.S. 60 – 299C.64, as amended) and Predatory Offender Registration Check.
- Successfully pass a pre-placement controlled substance test (49 CFR Part 655.41, as amended) and completion of Release of Information (49 CFR Part 40 (40.25, as amended), contingent upon a job offer.

Skills and Abilities
Knowledge: Areas of operation and familiarity with roads and highways. Adhere to all laws, statutes, policies and rules with the essential level of confidentiality and safety required of the position.
Skills: Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all stakeholders relevant to the position. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, accuracy, and problem solving.
Abilities: Ability and willingness to work a flexible work schedule. Understand and carry out simple instructions and arithmetic computations. Operate transit software. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Follow established procedures and directives from supervisors.
