Responsibilities
  • Leads and inspires the dock team to achieve operational goals and KPIs
  • Promotes and fosters a strong Employee Health and Safety culture
  • Processes all inbound loads from various origins and P&D terminal in a timely basis
  • Ensures all outbound loads depart on time and full as per network schedule
  • Drives revenue growth through accessorial/cubing/reweigh activities
  • Maintains appropriate staffing/equipment levels that are aligned with volumes and budget
  • Provides daily accurate reporting of KPIs and activities
  • Monitors and checks dock processes frequently to ensure quality and compliance
  • Delivers strong effective communication to the dock team
  • Mentors, coaches and develops their supervisors for growth opportunities
  • Coordinates building and yard maintenance
  • Collaborates with other departments in the spirit of continuous improvement
  • Complies with all Corporate policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of transportation and management experience;
    College or University Degree preferred
  • LTL experience an asset
  • Managing in a union environment an asset
  • Knowledge of GTA would be an asset
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt well to change
  • Excellent practical approach to problem solving
  • Customer service oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Possesses exceptional personal integrity and strong values
  • Has the courage and conviction to do “the right thing”
  • Leads by example, results driven
