Our client is Walworth county is looking for an Accounting Assistant. They are looking for someone with 2-3 years of related experience, highly organized and strong analytic skills.
The salary range for this position is $22-30/hr.
Responsibilities- Support day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll support, and general ledger activity
- Prepare and review financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards
- Generate and process invoices and billing adjustments
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables
- Reconcile bank activity, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end close activities and journal entries
- Maintain customer and vendor records, ensuring documentation is current and accurate
- Prepare internal reports and performance metrics for leadership review
- Assist with audits and documentation requests as needed
- Provide backup support across accounting functions when required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Ability to perform core job duties accurately and efficiently
- 2–3 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to maintain positive internal and external relationships
- Ability to work in a standard office environment and perform routine physical tasks as needed
