Provide safe, engaging programming at the archery range for campers of all skill levels. This role invites campers to challenge themselves, set meaningful goals, and build resilience as they learn the value of persistence—trying, failing, and trying again—through the sport of archery.
POSITION AVAILABILITY- Staff Orientation: the week of June 14 (exact date TBD) - June 24

- Live in a cabin with a co-counselor and 8 campers, and provide active supervision and attention to the physical and emotional wellbeing of campers during all on-duty hours.
- Communicate and enforce all safety policies and procedures with staff and campers at the archery range, and communicate program hazards to the Assistant Director of Camp Programs and Facility Manager.
- Lead and deliver age‑appropriate, engaging archery programming for the camp community; review written curriculum that includes goals, methods, schedule of activities, and emergency procedures; and inventory equipment.
- Train staff in safe archery range practices and procedures and provide regular feedback to counselors while they are working in the archery program area.
- Complete participation notes and attendance notes daily for all campers who participate in Archery activities.
- Communicate with co‑counselor and supervisor appropriately to balance responsibilities as a program instructor with responsibilities as a cabin counselor.
- Actively participate in camp life and programming including evening activities, camper choice time, theme days, bus duty, and more.
- $700 per week, pre‑tax.
- Summer seasonal staff are paid on a bi‑weekly basis and are classified as exempt, seasonal employees.
- This position is eligible for a $50 weekly bonus for valid lifeguard certification during weeks worked.
- All meals are provided during camp sessions.

- Ability to receive constructive feedback and coaching from supervisor and make necessary adjustments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with co‑workers to achieve program objectives.
- Ability to live with, support, and work with all camper age ranges at camp.
- Commitment to being punctual and adhering to a schedule provided by camp leadership.
- Possess strong communications skills and apply them with coworkers and supervisors, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive staff and camper information when necessary.
- Ability to perform job duties in a fast‑paced environment and embrace change and be flexible.
- While not required, familiarity with archery instruction would be beneficial.
Must be at least 18 and/or have a high school diploma/GED before the position start date to apply.
REPORTING AND RELATIONSHIPSThe Archery Program Counselor will report to a Program Coordinator with direction from the Assistant Director of Programs and Village Coordinators.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS- Staff are required to actively participate in all camper activities, including water‑related activities.
- Staff must be ready for new experiences and maintain a consistent level of energy all summer long.
- Position requires standing, stooping, sitting, walking long distances on uneven terrain (5+ miles a day), and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds with or without assistance.
