What’s In It For You:

    • Earn shift differentials from $0.50 to $3.00 per hour depending on shift
    • Earn additional pay incentives up to $5.00 per hour for picking up additional, non-scheduled shifts
POSITION SUMMARY:

This position provides basic care for residents/tenants to assure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times within a safe environment; assists with activities of daily living, offers emotional and social support, and attends residents/tenants’ overall physical comfort.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides personal hygiene including bathing (tub, shower, bed bath), oral care, skin and nail care and hand washing.
  • Completes resident grooming including hair care, shaving, dressing and weighing. Encourages residents/tenants toward independent personal care.
  • Assists with toileting including bowel and bladder retraining and perinea care.
  • Performs and assists with mobility, transferring, ambulation, positioning and range of motion per the care plan.
  • Assists in orienting residents/tenants upon admission and throughout stay as needed.
  • Documents accurately all care given, including dietary intake and output, temperature, weight, blood pressure pulse and respiration, using approved abbreviations and descriptive terms.
  • Reports to nurse on units for written and verbal assignments which include daily use of care plans for assigned residents/tenants before initiating care.
  • Participates in the planning of resident care through shift reports and resident care staffing meetings when assigned.
  • Informs verbally and/or submit in writing any observations and changes in a resident for the licensed nurse to evaluate including dietary intake.
  • Serves residents/tenants their meals; motivates and assists them with intake of nourishment and fluids.
  • Answers all call signals and requests of residents/tenants immediately.
  • Encourages/assists residents/tenants in keeping their rooms clean and orderly; assists with making beds.
  • Maintains nursing unit in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Keeps all residents/tenants’ personal belongings and equipment clean.
  • Escorts residents/tenants to appointments and/or therapy departments as scheduled.
  • Participates in unit activity programs planned for residents/tenants as needed.
  • Attends and participates in unit nursing staff meetings and mandatory in‑services.
  • Performs a total inventory of all resident’s possessions on admission, discharge or transfer.
  • Ensures all residents/tenants’ possessions are properly labeled.
  • Responds to resident emergency including bleeding, falls, seizures and performance of Heimlich maneuver.
  • Assists with post‑mortem care as assigned.
  • Transports dietary carts and linen carts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience Requirements Certified Nursing Assistant – Assisted Living
  • Age 16 or older.
  • Wisconsin certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and on state registry.
  • Completion of CBRF training: fire safety, first aid, and medication management program within 90 days of hire.
  • Must successfully pass criminal and caregiver background check.
Certified Nursing Assistant – Dementia Care
  • Age 16 or older.
  • Wisconsin certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and on state registry.
  • Completion of CBRF training: fire safety, first aid, and medication management program within 90 days of hire.
  • Cares Dementia Training Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Must successfully pass criminal and caregiver background check.
Expected Wage Range:
  • CNA: $19.83 – $22.43/hour
  • Dementia CNA: $20.83 – $23.56/hour
