Job Description & RequirementsThe Elevator & Co-Products Manager is responsible for overseeing grain elevator operations and co-product handling at the plant. This includes supervising the loading and unloading of grain and co-products, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and optimizing the handling of byproducts like distillers grains. The manager leads a team and collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth operations. Key responsibilities include developing logistics strategies, monitoring inventory levels, and implementing inventory control measures.
The manager ensures compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards while overseeing the maintenance and certification of equipment. Additionally, the role involves coordinating transportation logistics, managing space and resources within the facility, and handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, reporting, and maintaining documentation for logistics activities. The manager also monitors tracking systems like Compuweigh to ensure accurate inventory and shipment documentation.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate for the Elevator & Co-Products Manager position should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. They should have at least three years of experience in logistics management or inventory control, with a preference for experience in the ethanol or agribusiness industry, along with a minimum of three years in elevator operations or co-product management within an agricultural or ethanol environment.
Supervisory experience of at least two years is also required. Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain principles, and the unique needs of co-product handling in the ethanol industry is essential, as well as familiarity with facility management practices. Proficiency in logistics management systems, including Compuweigh and BOL systems, as well as MS Office, is necessary. Excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions under pressure, and handle stress are key.
The position requires both office and plant work environments, with safety equipment required in the plant and some physical demands, including occasional lifting and walking, sitting, and standing.
