The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality metal components. This role involves setting up equipment, adjusting machine settings, and inspecting finished products to ensure they meet company standards and customer specifications.
Description of Duties:
• Operate laser cutting equipment to process metal parts according to blueprints, work orders, and programs.
• Set up and adjust equipment parameters for optimal performance and precision.
• Load and unload materials, ensuring proper alignment and securing of work pieces.
• Conduct regular quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment to prevent downtime.
• Monitor machine operations, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines and production goals.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:
• 5 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting machines, preferably in a manufacturing or mechanical environment.
• Previous experience operating Trumpf and Mazak equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with measuring instruments and quality control processes.
• Basic computer skills for machine programming and data entry.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
