Senior Accountant

Paragon Pro Rentals is a rapidly growing heavy-equipment rental company seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support our expanding multi-location operations. This position will report directly to the Controller and play a key role in the monthly close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, process improvement, and oversight of day-to-day accounting activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys building processes, solving problems, and growing with an expanding organization. The position has the potential to develop into an Accounting Manager role as the company continues to scale.

• Lead key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets, rental equipment, inventory, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and debt
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, and cash activity
• Support accounting for multiple locations and related entities
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Assist with new-store accounting setup and operational readiness
• Monitor transactions for accuracy, appropriate coding, and compliance with company policies
• Support financial statement preparation and management reporting
• Assist with cash management, sales tax, and lender reporting
• Coordinate documentation and schedules for the annual audit
• Help develop and document accounting procedures and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and system utilization
• Provide guidance and review support to accounting staff
• Serve as a key point of contact for branch personnel regarding accounting matters
• Assist the Controller with special projects, system implementations, and growth initiatives

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and the financial close process
• Experience preparing journal entries and balance-sheet reconciliations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-growing environment
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with accounting and operational teams
• High level of accuracy, accountability, and professional judgment

• CPA or CPA candidate
• Previous Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, or Accounting Manager experience
• Experience with multi-location or multi-entity accounting
• Experience in equipment rental, construction, dealership, manufacturing, or a related industry
• Experience with inventory, fixed assets, equipment financing, and intercompany accounting
• Experience implementing or optimizing an ERP or accounting system
• Prior experience reviewing work or mentoring accounting staff

The successful candidate will bring structure, ownership, and consistency to the accounting function. They will be comfortable working through both detailed accounting transactions and broader operational issues, while helping the Controller build scalable processes for continued company growth.
