Job Overview

The Komatsu Account Manager is responsible for owning customer relationships across major mining operations within the Southwest region in AZ and CA. This role focuses heavily on business development within assigned mining accounts while ensuring strong support for parts, service, equipment sales, and longterm maintenance strategy. This is a highly autonomous position suited for someone who thrives on being in the field, building relationships, and shaping value-driven solutions for mining customers.

In this role you'll work regionally and be the owner and driver of the entire account management process for identified mine sites.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • The responsibility of the Account Manager is to manage all "aspects" of the account for the assigned accounts by interacting with all levels of management and personnel at each mine site.
  • Visit each site of the assigned accounts weekly
  • Understand what the customer's mining "plan" is for the future and what role Komatsu can play to support this plan.
  • Provide support in selling Equipment, and aftermarket support and services.
  • Manage and grow mining accounts across AZ and CA while spending 100% of time on the road visiting mine sites and customer facilities.
  • Build strong relationships with maintenance managers, operations leaders, supply chain teams, and leadership groups at each site.
  • Participate in weekly onsite meetings with customer maintenance managers to identify issues, review parts supply, and support ordering requirements.
  • Work with internal rental and equipment teams to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Conduct hands-on equipment inspections and support forecasting for yearly and quarterly equipment needs.
  • Balance business development with account management responsibilities as the region centralizes customer support.
  • Understand financial components such as rentals, amortization, and the impact of interest on payment schedules.
Qualifications/Requirements

Exeperience:

  • 3-5-years in Account Management, Sales, Project Management, and/or Product Management in OEM and mining environments with extensive customer interaction.
  • Prior experience in establishing alliances or partnerships, building a client base, achieving sales goals, working in a team environment, fostering internal & cross-functional relationships, contract negotiation, executing change without direct authority, and business planning activities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - proficient in MS Office, , Project Management tools, and presentation tools
  • Business and financial acumen - understands commodity economies & industry trends / business drivers
  • Professional interpersonal skills
