Project Manager, Civil Engineering, Operations Manager

We are a growing heavy civil construction company specializing in earthwork, underground utilities, and site development projects throughout the region. Our work includes residential subdivisions, commercial developments, municipal infrastructure, utility installation, grading, excavation, and roadway improvements.

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Project Manager who can successfully manage projects from pre-construction through completion while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands heavy civil construction operations, and takes pride in delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

• Manage multiple heavy civil construction projects simultaneously.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, production goals, and profitability.
• Coordinate closely with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.
• Prepare and track project budgets, cost reports, forecasts, and projections.
• Identify and manage project risks, change orders, and contract modifications.
• Attend project meetings and maintain communication with clients, engineers, municipalities, and developers.
• Procure materials, subcontractors, and equipment necessary for project execution.
• Monitor production rates and ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Assist with project estimating, quantity takeoffs, and bidding opportunities as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and quality expectations.
• Support field leadership by providing guidance, resources, and problem-solving assistance.

• 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction.
• Strong experience with underground utility installation including water, sewer, storm drain, and dry utilities.
• Strong understanding of earthwork operations, grading, excavation, and site development.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Experience managing budgets, cost controls, schedules, and project forecasting.
• Knowledge of production rates and construction means and methods.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and construction management software.
• Valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites regularly.

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Experience estimating heavy civil projects.
• Experience working with municipalities, developers, and public infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of GPS machine control, survey layouts, and quantity tracking.
