The selected applicant will manage the overall direction and daily operations of UTCS, supervise staff, and collaborate with faculty who constitute UTCS's production areas. The successful applicant will also be expected to teach up to 6 credits each semester in either Digital Film, Animation, or Digital Media.

This is a 12-month, full-time exempt staff appointment.

Utah Tech Creative Studios (UTCS) is a dynamic innovative university center that works with community clients in Washington County and surrounding areas to produce digital film, animation, and social media content. UTCS involves Utah Tech students in the various productions contracted within UTCS. The UTCS Managing Director will develop and manage client relations, craft and oversee contracts, and work with faculty and staff in the affiliated programs to develop crews/content creators. The Managing Director will manage the production of several live production events within Academic Affairs, such as commencement, pinning ceremonies, and academic convocation. The Managing Director will supervise three full-time UTCS staff members.

The Managing Director will also work closely with a three-person advisory board composed of faculty from the affiliated programs to focus on project development, budget oversight, and the overall direction of UTCS.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach up to six (6) credits in the area of their expertise and program need. The program areas that constitute UTCS are digital film (typically longer-form productions), animation (VFX, 3-D animation, CGI), and digital media (typically social media production, live broadcast studio production, and field video production). These teaching responsibilities may include regular courses or laboratory sections.

Any summer teaching or overload teaching during the fall or spring semesters is additional work for additional compensation. Learn more about UTCS, digital film, animation, and digital media on their websites.
