PositionSummary
Under the direction of the Art Museum Manager & Curator, performs various tasks as necessary to provide services for the St. George Museum of Art.
Essential Functions/Typical Working/Mental Demands/Working Conditions- Provide customer service in person and over the phone; answering questions and/or referring customers to appropriate staff members.
- Responds to public inquiries providing accurate information regarding various city arts and recreation programs and services.
- Assists Education team with tours, classes, and programming as assigned
- Assists in Exhibit preparation, including printing and hanging labels, preparing exhibit space, leveling artwork, and more as directed by curator/manager
- Aids in the promotion and advertising of programs and special events
- Registers participants for programs, classes, and activities
- Performs money-handling duties according to City and division policies and procedures
- General office and clerical duties;
Copies and prepares various brochures, flyers, schedules, rosters, etc. for distribution. - Organizes, cleans, prepares and maintains museum facilities and other work areas 10. Works programs and special events
- Handles various tasks and errands to support day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other related duties as needed
- Follow all city policies and procedures
Working conditions and temperatures may vary depending on assignment. Must be able to identify, evaluate, and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Requires moderately heavy physical activity, including exerting 25-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently. Work may involve intermittent exposure to stressful situations resulting from interactions with the public and other workplace demands.
Note:
Must be available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and variable schedules as needed to support museum programs, exhibitions, events, and other operations. This is a part-time position with variable hours averaging fewer than 28 hours per week over a twelve-month period.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Customer service experience preferred
Licenses and/or
Certifications:
None.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- General Knowledge of Art and Art Museums preferred

Free access to all 4 city golf courses (Dixie Red Hills, Southgate, St. George Golf Club, and Sunbrook), swimming pools (City Pool and Sand Hollow Aquatic Center) and recreation center is available to all part-time employees.
Note:
Golf course privileges are based on availability. Employees can book a tee-time within 24 hours or the same day, but may be turned away if there are no available tee-times. If you happen to be golfing with at least 2 paying customers; tee times can be set with more advance notice, but are still based on availability. Red Hills Golf Course will not be available to schedule tee times in advance --- walk on play based on availability only.
