Course Description

An introduction to economic analysis and its applications from a macroeconomic (economy-wide) perspective. Topics covered include international trade and finance, role of money and the banking system, monetary and fiscal policy.

Note:

graphical and quantitative analysis are used extensively.

Estimated TA support: 176 hours (contingent upon enrolment and funding)

Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Economics
  • Prior experience teaching this course (or a similar course) at the university level
  • Ability and experience teaching large classes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching over four or more years
Description Of Duties
  • Preparation and delivery of lectures in this course
  • Supervision of teaching assistant(s) assigned to course
  • Preparation, supervision and grading of tests and examinations in accordance with University regulations
  • Providing scheduled office hours for academic counseling of students
