Course Overview
This multidisciplinary course examines multiple lesbian identities that have varied in time and place. The course will pose questions such as What does lesbian mean? Why have changes occurred in meaning? How has the identity of lesbian been culturally represented and politically expressed in various social and political contexts? It will also take up contemporary theoretical, cultural, and political understandings of lesbianism.

Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree in disability studies, sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications- Doctorate degree in disability studies, sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or a related field.
- Relevant background in disability studies and LGBTQ+ studies.
- Experience teaching in a university environment.
- Prepare the course outline, syllabus, and lectures.
- Deliver lectures.
- Develop, mark, and administer course assignments, tests & exams.
- Calculate and submit grades in a timely manner.
- Conduct scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III under Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 agreement. Undergraduate, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are covered by CUPE 3902 Unit 1 and should not apply.
