    Takes up conversations in queer and trans studies as separate and entangled fields. It explores how queer and trans people have experienced and theorized gender and sexuality.

Minimum Qualifications

Completed Ph.D. with a scholarly background in areas related to the specific course required.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience of a similar course at the university level. Expertise in queer/trans migration and diaspora is an asset for this position.

Duties
  • Preparing the syllabus, reading list and lecture materials
  • Delivering lectures
  • Developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests and final assessments
  • Holding regular office hours
  • Communicating with students via email and Quercus
  • Managing TAs and/or graders if applicable

It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and must not apply.
