Innovation and Entrepreneurship (LEC 0101)

Course Description

This is an intensive, hands-on five-day course designed for students interested in turning their ideas into real-world ventures in the age of AI. You will work through the core stages of building a startup: identifying a meaningful problem, conducting industry and market analysis, engaging in customer discovery, designing a clear value proposition, and developing a business model. Using AI tools throughout the process, you will rapidly prototype your idea and prepare a live product demo and pitch deck.

A central focus of the course is learning how to think critically about your own ideas. You will be expected to test assumptions with evidence, analyse competitors, understand market dynamics, and validate or invalidate your hypotheses before building further. Strong ventures are not driven by attachment to an idea, but by a disciplined focus on solving real problems. By the end of the course, you will be able to clearly communicate your idea, understand how new products are validated and brought to market.
