Description:
This course offers a transnational perspective on prisons and abolition movements. Combining feminist approaches to carceral studies, psychology, and phenomenology, it centres human subjective experiences within – and in opposition to – local and global configurations of the prison industrial complex.

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum QualificationsCompleted Ph.D. with a scholarly background in areas related to the specific course required.
Preferred QualificationsRelevant lived experience and a blend of expertise in carceral studies and psychology as well as an emphasis on feminist abolition and global comparative approaches to carceral violence.

- Preparing the syllabus, reading list and lecture materials
- Delivering lectures
- Developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests and final assessments
