Description:
The course has two objectives: (1) to introduce you to the field of consulting and (2) to enhance your consulting skills. It focuses on external consulting but will discuss internal consulting briefly. Our class process will be participative. As much of your learning will come from discussions and experiential exercises with your peers, it’s vital you come prepared to make contributions of quality to the content and process of our classes.
In our discussions, we’ll practice our appreciative inquiry skills.

Salary (including vacation pay):
- Sessional Lecturer I = $9,997.48
- Sessional Lecturer I
- Long Term = $10,699.22 - Sessional Lecturer II = $10,699.22
- Sessional Lecturer II
- Long Term = $10,953.96 - Sessional Lecturer III = $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III
- Long Term = $11,228.90
Salary rates may vary if specified in the collective agreement; rates stipulated in the agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications- Completed PhD in Industrial Relations, Human Resources or a related discipline; or a combination of advanced degrees (e.g., MIRHR/MBA/LLB) and equivalent professional background.
- Expert knowledge of the subject area.
- Expert knowledge of the subject area and demonstrated ability in university teaching.
- Previous experience teaching a similar course is preferred.
- Prepare a course syllabus according to departmental guidelines.
- Prepare and deliver lectures (12 two‑hour classes).
- Be available for office hours and informal communications with students.
- Assess and evaluate students’ work and provide final course grades in accordance with university and department practices.

This posting is in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
Note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
