Description: An interdisciplinary and intersectional approach to the study of disability and sexuality. Students will engage with historical, mainstream and critical discourses and explore complex issues and representations pertaining to disability, sexuality, sexual practices and desire. Draws from a range of writings and cultural texts in queer, crip and sexuality studies.

Salary:

  • Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.48
  • Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $10,699.22
  • Sessional Lecturer II: $10,699.22
  • Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,953.96
  • Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.96
  • Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $11,228.90

Rates are pro‑rated to 0.5 FCE. If rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from those stated in this posting, the rates in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in disability studies, sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in disability studies, sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or a related field.
  • Relevant background in disability studies and LGBTQ+ studies.
  • Experience teaching in a university environment.

Description of Duties:

  • Prepare course outline, syllabus, and lectures.
  • Deliver lectures.
  • Develop, mark, and administer course assignments, tests & exams.
  • Calculate and submit grades in a timely manner.
  • Conduct scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students.
