Description: This course introduces students to key theories of sexuality and sexual diversity. It explores how sexuality intersects with race, gender, class, disability, citizenship status, and geography, among other social relations. Course readings draw from critical race theory, post‑colonial critique, women of color feminisms, trans studies, and transnational sexuality and gender studies.

Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2027 – April 30, 2027
Salary (pro‑rated to 0.5 FCE): $9,997.48 (Sessional Lecturer I) – $11,228.90 (Sessional Lecturer III Long Term). Rates are pro‑rated. Please note that if collective agreement rates differ, those prevail.
- Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or related field.
- Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or related field; relevant background in disability studies and LGBTQ+ studies; experience teaching in a university environment.
Description of Duties:
- Prepare the course outline, syllabus, and lectures.
- Deliver lectures.
- Develop, mark and administer course assignments, tests & exams.
- Calculate and submit grades in a timely manner.
- Conduct scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students.
