Position

Youth Development Professional (YDP) – Part‑Time

Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County & Southern Utah

Locations

Washington County (Washington, Sandstone, Legacy, Paradise Canyon, Red Mountain, Sunset Elementary)

Pay

$15–$18 per hour

Schedule

Approximately 15–22 hours per week, afternoons during the school year.

School Year

August 2026 – May 2027

Summer Opportunities

Available in select areas.

Responsibilities
  • Build positive relationships with youth through mentorship and active engagement.
  • Create a physically and emotionally safe environment for all participants.
  • Lead and participate in games, sports, recreation, and enrichment activities.
  • Facilitate engaging lessons and group activities.
  • Support youth social‑emotional growth and development.
  • Encourage inclusion, teamwork, respect, and positive behavior.
  • Assist with attendance tracking, surveys, and program documentation.
  • Maintain organized program spaces and materials.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow staff to create a high‑quality program experience.
Schedule Expectations
  • Monday–Thursday:
    Approximately 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
  • Friday:
    Hours vary by location; earliest start time may be 11:30 AM.

In addition to program hours, staff are expected to attend weekly staff meetings, monthly professional development trainings, and required conferences and training events throughout the year.

  • Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic.
  • Reliable and committed to consistent attendance.
  • Strong communicators and team players.
  • Comfortable leading and participating in activities with youth.
  • Passionate about helping young people succeed.
  • Flexible and willing to support special events and program needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with youth ages 5–18.
  • Experience in education, recreation, childcare, or youth programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds as needed.
