Course description: An introduction to diverse mediums and topics for exploration with an emphasis on experimentation and conceptual development. In addition to acquiring manual skills used in production of contemporary visual art, students are encouraged to explore their own individual artistic and research processes.

Rates in this posting are subject to the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.
Minimum QualificationsMA or MFA (or equivalent graduate degree) required with previous teaching experience. Strong exhibition history and currently exhibiting artist. Applicants may be asked to supply references.
Preferred QualificationsInternationally recognized practice.
Responsibilities- Preparation and delivery of course material.
- Managing digital teaching materials and platform.
- Supervision of teaching assistants.
- Preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations.
- Marking of student work, submission of grades.
- Dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.

Hiring PreferencePreference is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement. Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
