Insect identification and ecology, biodiversity and conservation, invasive species, insect‑tree interaction, biological control, pesticide use, and integrated pest management.

Lecture – Wednesday 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM;
Tutorial – Wednesday 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

Position Details

Number of positions: 1

Sessional dates of appointment: 1 January 2027 – 30 April 2027. The position includes completion of any coursework and grading not completed by 30 April 2027.

Salary (per half‑course, inclusive of vacation):

  • Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.58
  • Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $10,699.22
  • Sessional Lecturer II $10,699.22
  • Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,953.96
  • Sessional Lecturer III $10,953.96
  • Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $11,228.90
Minimum Qualifications
  • Preferably holding a Ph.D. or working towards a Ph.D. degree with extensive experience in forest ecology and entomology.
  • Teaching experience is an asset.
Description of Duties
  • Co‑teach course with professor.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures.
  • Organize guest speakers.
  • Maintain course notes and readings.
  • Arrange lab and fieldwork sessions.
  • Set and mark course assignments, including mid‑term, essay, final examination or other assignments, with support of a TA.
  • Compile, record and submit final marks.
  • Be available to students through regular office hours.
