Position Overview

The School of Management seeks a Sessional Instructional Assistant (Teaching Assistant) for the Course Business Design Fundamentals. The assistant will support faculty in the delivery of the first semester of this class, providing grading, proctoring, tutoring, office hours, and other instructional duties on campus.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in grading assignments and providing feedback.
  • Proctor final exams and invigilate tests as required.
  • Hold tutorials and office hours for students.
  • Assist with facilitation of studio‑based class format.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree and experience with human‑centered design innovation processes (e.g., Business Design, Integrative Thinking, Design Thinking).
  • Experience with Rotman Business Design courses or activities such as Practicum, Study Tour, Boot Camp, or Challenge.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; flexible and adaptive to live business challenges.
  • Interest in learning to facilitate studio‑based class formats.
  • Prior zSIA experience is an asset.
  • Comfortable teaching both online and in‑person; availability for both formats.
  • Eligibility to work at the University of Toronto (Graduate students, Postdoctoral fellows, Undergraduate students). Preference given to Graduate Students enrolled in the School of Graduate Studies.
Term & Location

Appointment dates:
September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026 (sessional). Position is located on the St. George campus.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $55.25 CAD plus 4% vacation pay.
