- Target enrolment: up to 120 students per section.
- Class schedule: Biweekly on Wednesdays 6:00‑9:00 pm (in‑person; synchronous online option).
- Sessional dates: Winter session (January 1 2027–April 30 2027); mandatory teaching period February 9 2027–March 6 2027.
Semester load 0.1 FCE. Salary prorated to reflect 0.1 FCE. Rates:
Sessional Lecturer I – $1,999.50
, Sessional Lecturer II – $2,139.84
, Sessional Lecturer III – $2,190.79
. Long‑term rates available if applicable. Collective agreement rates apply if higher.
- Graduate degree in a STEM or relevant field.
- Superior communication skills.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience teaching scientific communication methods to advanced STEM students (writing, public speaking, interpersonal communication).
- Experience in a technology company or innovation‑focused environment.
- Progressive senior leadership experience, including hiring and negotiating internship offers.
- Excellence in teaching.
- Plan lectures, tutorials, assignments, tests, and marking schemes.
- Maintain module website.
- Deliver module material.
- Provide contact time outside class (office hours, email, website, e‑bulletin).
- Assist with TA hour breakdown and supervision (if applicable).
- Manage assessment and invigilation of final exam (if applicable).
- Submit all module grades, ensuring timely release of feedback.
