Course

Description:

Ranging from the fifteenth through to the turn of the twenty‑first century, students will learn about treaties, trade agreements and alliances, as well as informal traditions, working relationships and cultural ties that shape relations of people living within the boundaries of present‑day Canada with the world. For this course, “international relations” is broadly defined, including military, political, economic, environmental and immigration policies, both official and informal.

Master of Arts in History or related field required. Mastery of the subject area as related to the course description above required.

PhD in History preferable. Demonstrated evidence of superior undergraduate teaching preferable. Previous experience teaching a similar course is highly desirable.

Develop syllabus; course preparation; lecture one two‑hour class weekly; in‑person lectures; marking. Will be 24 hours of lectures in this course and one office hour per teaching week. Supervise TA(s) in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 Collective Agreement. Duties of this position shall be performed at the campus on which the position is located.
