Granite Technical Institute Plumbing Instructor (1 FTE)
The Granite Technical Institute is seeking a qualified and motivated Career and Technical Education (CTE) Plumbing/Construction Teacher to join our team for the school year. The teacher may be responsible for teaching the following concurrent enrollment courses:
- Plumbing 1
- Plumbing 2
- Construction Technology

Required Certification
Requires ONE of the following:
- A valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with a plumbing endorsement;
- A valid Associate Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with a plumbing endorsement;
- Equivalent licenses and endorsements in another state;
- One of the following certifications: DOPL P200:
General Plumbing Contractor License or DOPL P201:
Residential Plumbing Contractor License; - Three years industry experience in plumbing or a related field and a commitment to obtain a DOPL P200:
General Plumbing Contractor License or DOPL P201:
Residential Plumbing Contractor License and a R100 General Contractor's license within one year of hire.
The following qualifications are preferred:
- willingness to run a CTSO (Skills USA)

- If approved for an Associate License, please upload your AEL eligibility letter in lieu of a full teaching license
- If qualifying through an industry certification, applicant should upload a current certificate(s).
- If qualifying by industry experience, applicant should list related work experience on the application and upload a resume in lieu of a teaching license where applicable experience is listed (see above requirements). Prior to hire an applicant will need to submit a letter from a supervisor on company letterhead indicating duties, responsibilities, and dates of employment.

- Must be able to pass all safety requirements.
- Ability to maintain an orderly classroom environment.
- Knowledge and ability to use computers.
- Willingness to lead a CTE Student Organization (Skills USA).
- Ability and willingness to collaborate and work with other professionals in Professional Learning Communities.
- Ability and willingness to work with industry partners to align classroom instruction with skill needs of employers.
- Ability to use and implement approved curriculum maps.
- Ability to evaluate student academic progress through various formal and informal assessments.
- Ability to communicate student academic progress to parents through various formats.
- Ability and willingness to use technology to enhance student engagement.
- Ability and willingness to implement proficiency-based grading.
- Ability to build a positive working relationship with students, school staff, administration business partners, parents and the community.
